How much is your service?
There is no instant answer to this question. At First Care Medical we provide individual quotes to all potential clients. We offer the best possible service for a realistic price. We understand that event managers have budget constraints. Our quotation reflects the type of event, the medical risk, likelihood of injury/illness, supplies needed and staffing. We are sure that you understand that we need to pay reasonable wages to attract the best staff, pay for medical insurance, equipment, superannuation etc.
Do you offer discounts to Not for Profit or Community Groups?
We always try to keep costs to a workable minimum for such groups.
What qualifications do your staff hold, and how do I know what that level is?
All our staff display their respective qualifications on our uniforms. The following is a table of qualifications:
Doctor = Registered Medical Practitioner with training & experience in emergency care.
Nurse = Registered or Enrolled Nurse with training & experience in emergency care. Most have advanced life support skills.
Paramedic = Qualified Paramedic with a Diploma or Bachelor Degree. Trained to advanced life Support level.
Medic = Qualified Ambulance Officer with a Cert 4 In Emergency Care or eqivalent.
First Responder = Qualified First Responder with Advanced First Aid/Resuscitation skills.
*First Responders are primarily used at large events and always work under supervision
What type of equipment do you have?
First Care Medical has invested thousands of dollars in medical equipment. You can be assured we have the right equipment to protect your event. Our inventory includes: Oxygen Resuscitation Kits, Cardiac Defibrillators (Heart Starters), Stretchers, Spinal Injury Boards and Collars, 12 Lead ECG Monitors, Blood Glucose Monitors, pulse oxyimeters and first aid kits.
Are your staff volunteers?
No. All our staff are paid employees – however we have and can > work in conjunction with first aid volunteers.
Do you have cadets or youth groups members?
No. All our staff are adults with training and experience in emergency care.
Are you insured?
Yes. First Care Medical has an extensive insurance policy covering us for medical malpractice, product failure and public liability. Further information is available on request.
Do you provide ambulance transport from an event to the hospital?
No. First Care Medical will never transport patient from a venue to the hospital. This is the domain of the State Ambulance Service. We will stabilise and call for ambulance assistance. At some high-risk events we may recommend a dual First Care / Ambulance Service stand-by.
How soon before an event should I book your services?
We recommend you make contact with us at least 2 months before your event. The sooner you contact us the better we can assist you. We will also consider last minutes requests, however can not guarantee staff for such requests. Free risk assessment and quotation will be provided. This quotation is valid for 30 days.
How do we pay for your services?
We ask for 50% of the quoted fee 7 days prior to the event. The remaining 50% of fee is payable within 14 days of the event finish. For smaller events total fee due within 14 days of event finish. Payable by Cheque, Direct Debit or Credit Card.
If someone is injured or becomes ill at our event do they get a bill for First Care Medical treatment?
No. The service fee provided by your event covers all medical staffing, treatment and equipment. Patients never receive a bill. Some events factor our service into patrons or participants entry fee.
Can you provide coverage to a country/regional event?
First Care Medical can provide services in regional areas. However our quote may include accommodation, travel and staff welfare fees. Contact us for further information.
What are the Company Directors backgrounds?
Our company is Director lead. You will see them in the field at a variety of venues. They are all trained and experienced in event medical care. Between them they have over 40 years experience in pre-hospital care.
